Baghdad, 10/3/2009: Iraqi Media Safety Group confirmed that two Iraqi Journalists killed in suicidal explosion, when a man exploded himself amid a crowd of tribal conference in Abu- Ghreib, west of Baghdad on the road to Al-Anbar governorate this morning.
The killed journalists are the editor of Al-Baghdadia TVS. team to cover the event Suheib Adnan and his photographer Heider Hashem Suheil.
The editor of Al-Iraqia TVS. Ibrahiem Al-Kateb seriously injured in his head, and treated by an urgent surgery to save his life. His condition is very serious. Other members of Iraqia staff sufferd of various injuries: photographer Raa’d Qasem injured in the head, his assistant Udei Munther and technician Fawzi Idan suffered of injuries in their hands.
The suicidal explosion killed more than 34 Iraqi tribesmen and more than 44 injuries.
IMSG express deep concern of the new wave of killing journalists in Iraq within escalating killing of Iraqi citizens, and calling to legalizing the project of Media staff protection.
