Baghdad, 29 June 2008: Iraqi Media Safety Group is very grateful to all people and foundations who denounced the cruel attack by US force on Hesen Al-Maajon and arrest him.
IMSG is proud to notice the great influence of Iraqi Journalists Union press release, in which condemned the abuse act of US force against a leading journalist,
this Union stand has its deep influence, which led to a press release by International Federation For Journalists in Brussels.
The IFJ called USA to release our colleague and compensate him for moral and material damages. Al-Maajoon released by US forces after one day from the IFJ press release and the violent statement of Aiden white secretary general of IFJ.
IMSG appreciates the Iraqi and World media in their support to the call of releasing Al-Maajon. At the same time IMSG is obliged to express its deep gratitude to many important officials in Salah Al-dien province, esp. General Abd-Allah Hussien Bushara Vice-governor, the gentleman whom IMSG met him once and praised his deep understanding to the role of media to support building democratic Iraq through active covering of reality and not exaggerating governmental achievements.
