Iraqi Journalists Union Announces The Killing Of The Iraqi Journalist No. 271
Baghdad, 12 Feb: The Iraqi Media Safety Group (IMSG) received confirmed news on the killing of the young journalist Husham Mejwet Hemdan (27 years).
Hemdan was kidnapped before two days, the police found his body in the area of Babalsheikh today. According to the president of Iraqi Journalists Union this attack raised the number of killed Iraqi journalists to 271, the last killings were Alla' Abdelkeriem Qasem the photographer of Alforat satellite TV, in addition to the driver of the team, who were in their way to the religious city Sameraa north Baghdad on the evening of 29th. of Jan. 2008, the editor of the team Fatmeh Alhusieny was injured also in the attack.
IMSG called all the fighting groups in Iraq to bar the killing of Iraqi journalists because they are doing their duty to inform the Iraqi people and the World about the realities on the ground in professional non- partial method.
