Iraqi Media Safety Group Calls Defense Ministry to Release Alshamany

Baghdad, 4 Jan: Iraqi Media Safety Group appeals to Iraqi defense ministry to release the journalist Jasem Alshamany from the prison of Alrustumia in which he imprisoned since more than 20 days.
IMSG said" the arrest of Alshamany, in spite that he had presented his journalist card is completely in contrast with all the defense ministry officials announcements, esp. the official spokesman.
IMSG urged defense ministry to release Alshamany who works as an editor in Almeshreq newspaper, because he is suffering from serious illness, and keeping him in prison threatens his live.
IMSG revealed the arrest of Alshamany with his son in a statement before 20 days in an army raid on Albetawien District.
